Farm animals are
domesticated animals
intentionally reared in an
agricultural setting. Animals
are domesticated when their
breeding and living conditions
are controlled by humans.
Types of farm animals include
pigs, cows, goats, sheep, and
llamas. Over time, the
collective behavior, life cycle,
and physiology of farm
animals has changed
radically. Many modern farm
animals are unsuited to life in
the wild. Goats, sheep, and
pig were domesticated around
8000 B.C. in Asia.
